Key to the concept of Connect Learn Grow is our desire to help people in need and whilst the event started as a fundraiser for The Hunger Project, something that we committed to 12 months ago, we couldn't sit back and not do anything to help our own community so we are opening the doors for Day 1 of Connect Learn Grow 2020, our exclusive 'doing' retreat for women in business to anyone who is unable to attend the full retreat but would love to come along and connect with like-minded women, learn from our incredible facilitators of the day, Shelly Horton & Tory Archbold, grow personally & professionally and help us raise valuable funds to support women in need.  

Day 1 is suitable for all females regardless of whether you are an entrepreneur, business owner, working in an organisation, a stay at home mum, a student or even if you are retired it doesn't matter because the two workshops are all about personal growth.

Workshop 2 - Build your confidence & take your presentation skills to the next level with Shelly Horton (Journalist, TV presenter ) 

Shelly Horton is a journalist, TV presenter, MC and runs her own company ShellShocked Media where she teaches media, presentation & confidence training and she is the personification of confidence. 

Can you believe that her high school guidance counsellor said she was too opinionated and warned her to tone it down....she ignored him and turned it into a career and aren't we lucky she did? Now Shelly’s opinion can be heard nationally a number of times each week with regular segments on Channel 9’s TODAY, TODAY EXTRA, 3pm News and Weekend TODAY and 20-1. She is also a lifestyle presenter for 9Honey, the host of 9Honey’s Talking Honey, He Said/She Said and hosts the Married At First Sight spin off show Talking Married.  

Her background in live TV means she’s super comfortable in front of a crowd. She has been the MC and hosted Q&A sessions for large events such as 9 To Thrive for Business Chicks for over 2000 people, charity fundraising galas for over 1000 people to champagne lunches of 100 or beauty breakfasts for just 40. 

Shelly has a great sense of humour and can think on her feet. She knows how to relax a crowd or excite a group as needed. Her motto is the 5Ps (Prior Preparation Prevents Piss-poor Performance) so she’s always well prepared, well researched, arrives early and ensures the VIPs are made to feel special and when it comes to keynote addresses Shelly’s uses her skills as a media and presentation trainer to offer tips and tricks on how to present with confidence.
