Back for its 5th year, the Murwillumbah Arts Trail will play host to 90 artists, creatives and collectives who will present their works at various venues across Murwillumbah from Friday May 28 to Sunday May 30 2021.
The quaint town of Murwillumbah in north-eastern New South Wales will be transformed into an art-lovers haven, showcasing contemporary art from some of the region’s most talented artists. The trail will guide visitors across Murwillumbah, at sites such as Proudfoots Lane, MArts Precinct, The Citadel, Johnny Francos, Caldera Wildscapes Gallery, Gallery DownTown and the Tweed Regional Art Gallery.
Visitors can take time discovering art, meeting the creators and engaging with the works on their journey as well as take part in workshops, demonstrations and activities. Highlights of the program include performances from youth group Doublemask Theatre, artist talks and presentations and local studios and pop-up spaces showcasing all types of art including painting, textiles, sculpture, woodturning, pastels, glass and steel art and site-inspired art.
There’s a bunch of artists, makers, crafters, musicians, poets, storytellers and creatives helping to make the trail its biggest one yet, with group exhibitions including Caldera Wildscapes Gallery, Murwillumbah Potters Group, Take Five, Farrants Hill Collective and Creative Glass Guild of Queensland.
