Cane Toad Challenge Tweed Shire
A revolutionary new method of cane toad control that uses the toads' own toxin against them to target every life-stage!
About this Event
Watergum's Cane Toad Challenge is coming to Tweed Shire!
Watergum has partnered with Tweed Shire Council to bring the Cane Toad Challenge to Tweed, just in time for those summer rains!
Trap tadpoles by the thousand and learn how to rid your properties of toads to contribute to neighbourhood eradication of this dangerous pest.
Cane toads are highly toxic at every life stage presenting significant danger to pets, wildlife and agriculture. The plague is spreading at an alarming rate and we need to work together to reduce their numbers and reclaim our properties and natural areas.
Join us on Wednesday 16th December at South Tweeds Sports to learn how to trap tadpoles on your properties, how to toad-proof your water-bodies and more.
South Tweed Sports have kindly donated their venue to us for the evening and are keeping the restaurant open late for you so that you can purchase a meal and a drink to enjoy while you listen to presentation and have your questions answered by the Watergum team.
You can buy a tadpole trap on the night for $30 and we will provide you with lures for FREE!
Spaces are limited so please REGISTER!
Watergum is a not for profit organisation that strives to engage the community to help the environment. Proceeds from trap sales go into he recovery of costs for materials and further expansion of the Cane Toad Challenge program.
Let's make a difference, let's impact cane toads!
